Enlighten
The idea behind this painting was from an acrylic painting I saw a while ago that simply blew me away. The power of the color and the value along with the simple composition seems to work perfectly.

Winters Afternoon
This started off as a study on Andrew Wyeth's work but ended up taking it's own path and becoming basically a painting of Bailey. Thanks for checking it out!

Self Portrait
Being that I turned 39 yesterday I figured I should probably do a current self portrait. If I wait any longer I will have to paint a gray-haired old man!!! Self portraits are, for me, one of the most challenging things to paint. I tried hard not to get to detailed and wanted this to remain very painterly. You can read comments on this painting HERE. Thanks for checking it out!

An Artist is Born!
A big artistic step for Jaden today! He sketched and painted his first still life (my Starbucks coffee mug) and joined the ranks of the elite artists on the ArtRage forums. He has his very own online art gallery now! Way to go Jaden!!! The first painting "Fish Rodeo" was painted for his Avatar on the forum (we both had our hands in that one!) The second painting is of my Starbucks coffee mug with light and shadow. The spot next to it was where he was mixing his colors for the light. He did this all on his own creating and mixing his own colors and values. It turned out awesome!
